Communication Decision Chart
About this Chart
Project Description: This decision chart was created to aid product owners and engineers when determining what type of communication was needed and should be requested based on certain change scenarios. This problem was discovered while attempting to complete several communication requests and finding that the incorrect requests were being submitted. Through discussions with Change Enablement and team leaders, we discovered that Ed Tech needed more direction on when to choose what type of communication for their change needs. When requested, communications are sent to specific audiences or all students and employees. There is a high degree of importance to timing and messaging, as well as the appropriate communication needing to be selected.
Problem Statement: Ed Tech product owners and engineers do not know when to request a communication or what type of communication they need to request based on various change situations resulting in incorrect requests being submitted and additional time being needed to review, evaluate, and correct the communication needs, sometimes impacting the change date and other impacted systems and processes.
User Outcomes: Ed Tech product owners and engineers understand what type of communication is needed based on the type of change being requested.
